The peaceful life of Ramakant is disrupted when he is brutally murdered by a local gangster, Fazal Khan (played by Aditya Datt), who is backed by the notorious crime lord, Shahid Khan (played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui). Fazal Khan's brutal murder of Ramakant sets off a chain of events that would change the course of Wasseypur's history.
Faaruk Pathan's direction is commendable, as he weaves a complex narrative with multiple storylines and characters. The film's cinematography, handled by Aseem Ahmed, captures the gritty and raw reality of Wasseypur.
